como dije en ::: e noticias, the killers bien pudo haber lanzado un buen ep en vez de su anterior disco hot fuss; ahora mi opinion no cambia y el cuarteto de las vegas continúa irregular en su reciente sam’s town; del que when you we’re young es uno de los temas a destacar. pero a ellos no les importa lo que diga yo ó alguien a quien no le haya gustado el trabajo: “una mala crítica no nos va a hacer vender menos discos”.

esta semana 9 ingresos en el radioblog, canciones de ratatat, sparklehorse, the rapture, clinic, dj shadow, sufjan stevens, dead disco, un remix de rayon y una reactualización de un tema del proyecto italiano a.i.m.

cuando aparecieron en el 2000 con international wrangler, clinic ganó varios adeptos con esa lúdica combinación de brit-pop. blues, electrónica y más; que lo hacía si no inclasificables, al menos bastante singulares -con sus disfraces de cirujanos- dentro del vasto panorama musical británico. la senda siguió con walking with tee (2002); mientras que winchester cathedral (2004) y el recientemente lanzado visitations mantienen la necesaria cuota de frescura que el grupo de liverpool debe tener para no defraudar a los que los seguimos, pese a que ya no suenan tan sorpresivos como antes. del último visitations ingresa children of kellog en el puesto 40.

el quinteto de texas midlake debutò en el 2004 con un disco, bamnan and slivercork, muy influenciado por el psychodelic rock de fines de los 60’s. the trials of van occupanther (julio 25, bella union) se adentra en los terrenos del folk y los cantautores lo-fi, siendo un disco muy diferente a su antecesor. young bride es la nueva nùmero 1, y puedes ver el video aquì.
