mientras en el 2005 todos se rendían ante brian wilson, the streets y franz ferdinand; en el 2006 vemos una mayor variedad en las listas, síntoma de que este 2005 nos trajo mejores discos que el 2004. caso curioso el de the arcade fire, los canadienses recién editaron funeral a inicios del año en europa y todas las listas europeas lo ponen entre sus 5 mejores discos del año; también es bueno ver la consagración de kanye west como el nuevo rey midas del hip hop, la consolidación de los franz ferdinand con su segundo disco; el arrollador éxito de antony and the johnsons, no compartido por este servidor, supongo que algo debe de tener el disco -oh si, las letras!-; el despegue de gorillaz con su segundo disco, mucho más elaborado que el anterior; el éxito de una propuesta “difícil” como lo es m.i.a.; el éxito de bright eyes en españa; el cálido recibimiento a los nuevos héroes canadienses wolf parade; el retorno con nuevos bríos de kate bush -tras más de 10 años- con aerial, que no caló mucho por aquí; la consagración de lcd soundsystem en lugares alejados de la realidad y sin noción alguna de lo que es un single -debe de haber sido el primer acercamiento a la electrónica de muchos-; el éxito artístico de los white stripes en europa -más no en américa- con get behind me satan, un disco menor si lo comparamos con los dos anteriores; el buen momento de bloc party, aunque sin consolidarse del todo; el gran tercer disco de the new pornographers; el buen recibimiento al siempre nostálgico richard hawley con cole’s corner; la sorpresiva aparición de la sueca robyn a fines de año; y claro, sufjan stevens, ya consolidado con su sexto disco illinois.
